Mayflies.
Building societies not for themselves but for the next generation or even the next ten.
Not themselves, no complacency or status quo.
advance quickly scientifically, but homogenously.
no running out of fossil fuels, as they would have been 'green' from early on.
Ill take mine and you deal with your own...would make NO sense to them and seem insane

It's, um, all over your face...
OK this one's sure to get me some heat but it's got to be said....
-
A goatee?
Really?
Not only is it a bit like a beard for half-asses, but it really doesn't hide your double chin as well as you think, in fact I think it enunciates it.
And here's the part that gets me, it looks very much like you're wearing a vagina sideways on your face.
If you had told me twenty years ago that it would be fashionable, possibly even the "new American sexy", I would have laughed my Daryl Hall sideburns off at you.
-"A goatee?" I would have asked, incredulously.
-"Really? You mean like Isaac from the Love Boat, or Worf from Star Trek? Sexy? Al Jourgenson? Nahh....it's too beatnik-western-movie-bad-guy-foreign-artist-in-a-beret-ish. I'm not buyin' it" I'm likely to have said.
But now, sure as shootin', Johnny Depp in Pirates...Goatee...
Robert Downey Jr. in Iron man...Goatee.
Four of the last ten "sexiest men alive" from people magazine...Goatees?
Hell, even Orlando Bloom caught scarce notice in Lord of the Rings, but slap a vag, I mean goatee on his face for Pirates, and WHAM...Goatee!
Vagina on his face, vagina on his face, vagina on his face.
Now I've worn a fuzzy face or two before, I'm no razor purist.
I've let it all go like some crazed Hippy/Logger/Rabbi, sported the tamed Will Riker chinstrap, and my Fu Manchu was an eyecatcher. It was a decent foodcatcher as well so it, in time had to go.
But once someone (thanks Tad) puts into your head the notion that goatees look like sideways face-vaginas, it's difficult not to think about it.
Every time you see a goatee.
-
I'm not even sure I feel like telling anyone to get rid of theirs if they have one. 'Cause let's face it, some people wear their hearts on their sleeves and some people...well, you can finish that one.
-
As a sidebar I've noticed that these facial vajayjays often seem to accompany a shaved pate, prompting me to wonder if the act of finally succumbing to the realization that ugly baldness has set up camp for good, and bringing a razor to it all might be the trigger to just go ahead and place the birth canal squarely on your face, but I digress...
-
I was also going to say something about the opposite thing happening to women with long, pronounced noses like Sarah Jessica Parker and such, but fear I may have already prodigiously dropped the v-word enough times to ensure lack of publication.
Besides, what would my wife think? Or is that your head down there guy? Eh, whatever.
G'night dicknose.
